I've been in a weird funk, (I guess you could call it that) for about a month now. I can't really explain how I've been feeling, but I've felt entirely unsocial, uninspired, etc. Luckily, I've been feeling much better and think I'm getting back to my normal self.
On Wednesday, Phoebe and I went to a lecture series at USF where Tim Gunn (co host of Project Runway/Liz Claiborne chief creative officer) was the...motivational speaker? I guess you could call it that. Anyway, I almost didn't go, but I'm so glad I did. He spoke for almost 2 hours about his experience in the fashion industry and followed with a Q & A session. Fashion is always something I've been interested in, but never really considered it as a career. Still, (even though I have no intentions of signing up for a fashion course), his speech made me 100% sure that I want nothing more than to have a career in something art related.
He talked a lot about fashion history and art history in general and it kept reminding me of when I took art history at Columbia. I remember all of the other classes I had wanted to take were full and art history was basically one of the only classes left. I had NO desire to ever take that class, but I ended up loving it and finding it one of the most rewarding classes I've taken.
Anyway, I'm kind of rambling as usual, but I'm considering maybe focusing on an art history major in a year or two? Who knows, but the speech was another reminder that I'm not living in Chicago like I always wanted to be!
